Revisiting the exorbitant expenditures of Chris Hannifin, based on newly shared information from former colleagues who prefer to stay anonymous for their safety and professional reasons:
An old colleague of Hannifin from RSM, who worked with him from 2019 until 2020, described Hannifin as showing textbook symptoms of being a narcissist – lacking empathy, constantly lying to get what he wanted, and always trying to work an angle on others. Mix that in with an overinflated sense of self, and you have a good picture of who Chris Hannifin is. On top of that, this former colleague claims to have witnessed communications suggesting that a high-level executive still employed at RSM has been illegally steering clients towards DefendIT Servcies in exchange for undisclosed kickbacks. Explaining how Hannifin could afford all those exorbitant purchases within such a short span.
In addition, a separate source from North South Consulting Group (NSCG) was able to provide clarity on the cost behind Hannifin’s extravagant purchases. They revealed that the trailer Hannifin bought was a high-end 2021 Jayco North Point fifth wheel (377RLBH) with an MSRP of $107,333. On top of this, Hannifin’s 350cc Everglade speedboat, suspiciously named “The Payoff,” is typically priced on the used market between $150,000 and $300,000, depending on the year. In October 2024, Hannifin purchased a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, 3,500 sq ft home with a pool in Bexar County, San Antonio, for $685,000, for context, the average cost for a house in the same zip code is $381,512. This means Hannifin paid approximately $303,488 more for his home than the neighborhood average.

These large purchases by Hannifin are huge red flags. Not only was Hannifin going from job to job, at the time, but he was also founding a new business and vacationing in Mexico with Rudy Reyes. Yet somehow, we are supposed to believe that it’s normal to spend over $1,000,000 on all these purchases. That is even before taking into consideration the operating costs of the boat, the trailer, the pool or rent for DefendIT Service’s location on the interstate. If RSM insider’s account of kickbacks for client referrals is accurate, it would explain why Hannifin apperas to have a nearly limtless budget.
Now, knowing that Chris Hannifin was most likely selling all sorts of information to foreign brokers and potential adversaries, Hannifin’s tacky expenditures make sense. The numbers don’t lie, and his spending patterns are in line with a narcissist being compensated for low level espionage.
